Southwell Golf Club Local Rules
| 1. |

a) Beyond any wall, fence or hedge bounding the course.
b) The Race Track to the left of the 10th Hole and beyond any line
of white stakes, except those to the right of both the 11th and
15th Holes which apply to the 16th Hole only.
c) Practice Ground
d) Beyond the nearside top edge of the curved sections of ditches
identified by white stakes with black tops.

a) Water hazards marked with yellow stakes or not otherwise distinguished
are ordinary water hazards.
b) Lateral water hazards are marked with red stakes. Dropping zones,
defined by green stakes on holes 7 & 17, may be used as one
of the options under rule 26-1.

a) A ball lying in or on vehicle tracks, on fairways or mown areas,
or in or on any workings, may be lifted, cleaned and dropped without
penalty in accordance with Rule 20-2.
b) Stones in bunkers are movable obstructions and may be removed
without penalty (Rule 24-1).
c) All bridges, paths and internal roads, staked trees, racecourse
equipment and steeplechase fences are immovable obstructions and
relief may be obtained under Rule 24-2. Note : If a player’s
ball lies in a water hazard, the player is not entitled to relief
under Rule 24-2.

All fixed and pop-up sprinkler heads are immovable obstructions
and relief from interference by them may be obtained under Rule
24-2. In addition, if such an obstruction on or within two-club
lengths of the putting green of the hole being played intervenes
on the line of play between the ball and the hole, relief may be
obtained, without penalty as follows: If the ball lies off the putting
green but not in a hazard and is within two club lengths of the
intervening obstruction, it may be lifted, cleaned and dropped at
the nearest point to where the ball lay which
a) is not nearer the hole,
b) avoids such intervention and
c) is not in a hazard or on a putting green.
