A hole in one in amateur golf is rare. Two in two days is even more unusual so to have 3 in just over 24 hours is phenomenal. However, that is exactly what happened on 31st August and 1st September during the Men’s Monthly Stableford and the Memorial Trophy.
Dave Coleman set the ball rolling on Saturday. In the opening group and playing first in a 3-ball alongside Steve Price and Gary Leivers, Dave hit the perfect 5-iron to record the first ever hole in one on the first hole. A fantastic achievement and Dave also managed to hold his game together to score an excellent 40 points and win the competition.
On Sunday, Mark Rudd, who last year enjoyed his first ever birdie at the 7th hole went one better by holing in one at our famous signature hole. The birdie ball was immediately retired last year so we assume the hole in one ball will also go into Mark’s museum!
On the same day, Roger Ruane, playing alongside Gill and Will (Wife and Son!!), together with Captain Nevin, saw his 9-iron at the 12th disappear into the hole for his first hole in one after many years of trying.
A great result for all players who will no doubt be looking forward to receiving their Boss watches from the Howdidido website.
